OT theatre

Thane Health Care boasts of 2 theatres which are well equipped to make your operations safe. The salient features of the theatres are as follows

Size: Both the theatres are spacious and with AC’s which makes the surgeons job easy and comfortable. Having 2 OT's helps in keeping all the clean cases in one OT eg joint replacements,cataract operations etc. while the unclean cases can be kept in the other OT.

Important equipment in the OT:
Multiparamonitor with ETCO2 monitoring facility . Only an anaesthetist will be able to understand the relief and pleasure of working in an OT with this facility as it means higher safety for the patient. Most doctors will agree that the anaesthetist's job is perhaps more hazardous than the surgery itself and keeping tabs on the patient's vital signs is very important.

Defibrillator is ready in theatre which means, should the need arise, we don't lose a moment in taking action. In addition, having the intensive care unit only 2 floors away, help is only a shout away, should the anaesthetist ever need it.

Central Oxygen helps in eliminating the hassle of running around at the last minute searching for an oxygen cylinder.

C-arm compatible OT table specially designed to facilitate the most demanding of positions in Orthopaedics.

C-arm in the theatre also means more accuracy for the Orthopaedician while nailing, screwing and plating.

Valley Lab cautery is every Surgeon's dream. In the city of Thane there would hardly be 2-3 hospitals having it.

Stohrz phaco machine & Zeiss microscope. This is the best known combination an eye surgeon can ask for the cataract operations.

Generator support for all theatre equipment including AC's which means that should electricity fail, the surgeon does not swear and patient does not suffer!!

Infection control policy:

What makes our OT so special is the infection control policy. We do all clean cases such as joint replacement , cataract surgery , plastic surgery and neuro-surgery in theatre 1. Theatre 2 has other surgeries such as GIT , hysterectomy , ENT surgery and urology which have infective potential. This means that there is no cross contamination between the theatres.

Theatres are frequently and regularly swabbed with a reputable institution to ensure quality control.
